Mt Baker is primarily a practice run and training exercise for Denali which is already scheduled for May 2014. We trained on mountaineering skills such as advanced roping, crevasse rescue and Other skills required on Denali. I also be tested out some of the same gear I intend to use there. We made summit bid and were successful.
This trip is required by AAI, the guide service I have selected for Denali, as part of their screening process which I am happy about. I prefer to be up there with experienced climbers who can literally pull their own weight.
